Meanwhile, I’ll try to tempt you. IF you are a lover of Mid-Century Modern furnishings or artwork, you won’t want to miss any of these sales. Not to say we don’t have antiques from other periods, we have those too!
We very excited about trying some new tactics this month. For the first time ever, we will be holding an estate tag sale in our gallery. We’ve had to move it away from the home due to the timeliness of the closing. We are giving you, the public, an opportunity to purchase any items two days prior to the auction. On the third and final day, we will be business as usual. Auction at 1:00 pm!
Also, we’ve picked up a wonderful estate of our client’s mother who was deep seated in the Pennsylvania Dutch Community. Very nice primitives in this one! There is so much good quality furniture getting ready to roll through the doors, I say, “STOP”, if you’re thinking about buying new! We have several rich leather pieces, and elegant furnishings on their way to us.
Long story short……stay tuned. the fun is about to begin! 
Sunday’s Auction
Thanks to all who attended Sunday’s auction! Hopefully a good time was had by all! We enjoyed it and are looking very forward to the next one in two weeks. This one is going to have, among other things, a wonderful collection of Modern Lithographs: Picasso, Miro, Ben Shahn, Matisse and many more!
We will also have the furnishings for the mid-century modern lover! 
Le Crueset will abound as will Fire-King Swirl Glassware, Hopi Indian Basket and a wonderful collection of Ephemera and Vintage Vinyl! mark your calendars now for this wonderful sale!
Mark your calendars for next Sunday. We’ll begin our auction at 12:00 pm under the tents in front of the gallery as we sell all of the things that “make a house a home”, as well as functional, utilitarian items from our Vass & Chapel Hill estates.
At 1:15, we will begin selling the items inside the gallery. Both of these homes were clean, non-smoking homes with fine furnishings. There will be antique, mid-century, contemporary and more. This is like going to an on-site auction, but in the comfort of our gallery!
Well, it looks as though we are going to be in the Book business for a bit. Stay tuned for exciting news. We plan to make a weekend of it. Two days of a Library Tag Sale finishing with an auction as requested.
There will be over 12,000 books in our gallery. Date to be announced.

Sunday’s auction was really fun. Thanks to all attended and welcome to our seventeen new clients. Stay tuned for the next round, scheduled for January 29. We will be moving the contents of a Vass, NC home to the gallery, as it is a home in a gated community. Some photos are up but many more to come.
You know I started this blog to share…
You know I started this blog to share the special moments that happen in our world of auctions and yesterday, we had one of those. Often, I try to share a story with people in my life about the day to day of what I do, and it’s often one of those “you have to be there” moments. Yesterday, during our preview, we met a new friend who is a French Opera singer! She sat down and blessed us all with at least half of an aria. The haunting and melodious tones enveloped the gallery and it will go down as a day to remember. Of course, many folks previewing didn’t know what was going on, exactly, so I enjoyed watching all as we were trying to figure out what was going on. Everyone just sort of stopped until the singing concluded at which time a respectful round of applause was given. If you were there, you know what I mean. Don’t miss previews. They can be very educational!

Hello Everyone who may be stopping by!
Tomorrow, Sunday’s auction is so unique and exciting. We see so many objects in our world, it is great when we hear words like “unique”, “unmusal” and “great sale” during our previews. We strive for it actually and we are delivering on this one. The variety is daunting. Many one of a kind objects, autographs of the golden age of baseball to our age of Michael Jordan, Larry Bird and Magic Johnson! We have fine glass, good antique furniture, exceptional ephemera, jewelry, nautical and maritime collectibles. There is even a New York City Street Piano on its original cart. Sorry the monkey didn’t make it!
We’ve a fine arm chair from the Moravian area of North Carolina, Weathervanes from PA, and everything in between. Much of the artwork featured has been in storage for twenty to forty years. Many good mid-century works on paper. If you can’t tell, I’m very excited about this sale. Don’t miss it. It is going to be a very good day!

There are some great unusual objects in this one. We are continuing to excavate the Michael Bernholz estate from the decade old storage facility! Michael always had an eye for the fine and unusual.
