Meanwhile, I’ll try to tempt you. IF you are a lover of Mid-Century Modern furnishings or artwork, you won’t want to miss any of these sales. Not to say we don’t have antiques from other periods, we have those too!

We very excited about trying some new tactics this month. For the first time ever, we will be holding an estate tag sale in our gallery. We’ve had to move it away from the home due to the timeliness of the closing. We are giving you, the public, an opportunity to purchase any items two days prior to the auction. On the third and final day, we will be business as usual. Auction at 1:00 pm!

Also, we’ve picked up a wonderful estate of our client’s mother who was deep seated in the Pennsylvania Dutch Community. Very nice primitives in this one! There is so much good quality furniture getting ready to roll through the doors, I say, “STOP”, if you’re thinking about buying new! We have several rich leather pieces, and elegant furnishings on their way to us.

Long story short……stay tuned. the fun is about to begin!

Wanted: Ghost Stories about Antiques & Houses

Hey Folks,

I am collecting ghost, unexplained stories about houses or possessions. Could be a story about something that you just can’t attribute to any rational reasoning. I have mine from past and present that I will be sharing as well. Wait until you hear the story about the Greensboro estate that we did a couple of years ago. It raised the hair on our arms! Or, there was the house where a gentleman was murdered that we couldn’t get photographs to come out in a particular area of the home and the ones that did had a huge shadow in them! And to this day, when the door opens in our gallery for no good reason, we simply say “Hi Ernie”. If any of you remember Ernie, you’ll know what I’m talking about. This had never happened until we began liquidating his estate. Come on and share. Let’s have some fun. Afterall, we auction folks deal with numerous OLD things!

Happy Father’s Day weekend

Well, folks, I am travelling  this weekend, but the exciting news is that the estates are arriving daily! Always fun for an auctioneer to return to work with many surprise treasures!

We’ll be posting details about the sale first of the week, so stay tuned. I also want toa announce that we will once again offer an hour beforehand of box lot items and surplus. This session will be held at 12:00 noon under the tents in front of the gallery. Please plan to join us!

Next Sale to celebrate the objects in many of our lives!

Next Auction:

Sunday, June 27 at 1:00 pm

The next auction on the books will be  celebrating  objects from the late 19 to 20th century! It’s as though Ozzie, Harriet & Ricky Nelson teamed up with the Cleavers and their extended families!

This will be a fun sale with a great deal of nostalgia. Stay tuned for details and photographs at weeks beginning.

A not to be missed for you lover’s of RETRO!

It’s Sunday, time to ask again, What makes an auction enjoyable to attend?

Thanks to all who have responded both through the blog, as well as in person. I am gathering notes. So once again, please share what makes an auction enjoyable. If you don’t know what makes it enjoyable, then what makes it NOT enjoyable. Don’t worry, we have our opinions too!
