Well, it looks as though we are going to be in the Book business for a bit. Stay tuned for exciting news.  We plan to make a weekend of it. Two days of a Library Tag Sale finishing with an auction as requested.

There will be over 12,000 books in our gallery. Date to be announced.

Checked out the yard today at the estate and we have at least six big shade trees, and, today, actually a breeze. We just keep uncovering items, so check back daily: http://www.cindysmithauction.com
It’s going to be a great day.

Lots of excitement building…..
August 8 will be our next auction in the gallery. The gathering began this week and we have uncovered many nice fresh estate pieces of Majolica, Bavarian Porcelain, Vintage Textiles & Clothes, a FABULOUS Flame Grain Painted PA. Jelly Cupboard and SO much more.
We have also confirmed an upcoming on-site auction that will be held off of Highway 54 in Durham on August 21. Everybody say a little prayer for a break in the weather. This is a very nice estate of an individual whose favorite pastime was attending estate tag sales and auction over the last several decades. We are very excited about this one! Stay Tuned.

It’s Sunday, time to ask again, What makes an auction enjoyable to attend?

Thanks to all who have responded both through the blog, as well as in person. I am gathering notes. So once again, please share what makes an auction enjoyable. If you don’t know what makes it enjoyable, then what makes it NOT enjoyable. Don’t worry, we have our opinions too!

Hopefully, everyone has noticed that we bumped our sale to next Sunday, May 23. We will now offer two sessions: Session One: Estate Costume, Victorian & Southwestern Indian Jewelry. This session will begin promptly at 12:00 noon and run about fifty minutes. For those of you who love and collect jewelry, this is your private time. For those who do not, we won’t boar you during the main sale. Thoughtful, eh?

The second session of the sale will commence between 1:00 and 1:15. This is a very good sale with something for everyone.
The extra week has allowed us to pick up some fine and unique items!

Happy Mother’s Day to All

Just want to take a moment to wish all a Happy Mother’s Day. In the words of a wise New Englander, “If you’ve got em, love em.”  Better weather couldn’t have been ordered for this event!

Folks, if anyone wishes to attend the funeral and would like to meet at the gallery, we plan to caravan to the church. We would like for you to be here by 1:00 pm. We intend to have a toast to Eddie before we go.

Good Morning!
The big Spring auction date is set and it is Sunday, March 28th. This will be the last auction in our auction gallery. On Monday, March 29th, we will be selling the remaining contents of the building: showcases, chairs, shelving, desks, office stock and more.
We are NOT going out of business.
The exciting news is that we will be keeping an office in the village and we will be having our auctions in the Red Barn, a large space with a true concession area, lots of seating and lots of bathrooms. We look forward to the change.
Rather than fighting a changing or uncertain economy, we’ve opted to “roll” with it. This move will allow us to bring you bigger and better auctions.
